Questions and answers about OMNITRACKER Windows User Interface ↦ General:
<userdefined>and in English language.
In several message templates, OTR-files are also sent in the appendix. If an Omnitracker session is not already open, the profile
<userdefined> is displayed
in the logon window and the session is opened in English.
You can view the profile used by the object to open by opening the .otr object with a text editor. The evaluation is then performed as follows:
The host name to be used to open the objects can be set in the Admin Client under
File->Administration->Client Options (this is especially recommended in MSA environments).
If there is no entry there, the current host name is selected during the creation of the OTR-file (the host name is also displayed in the lower right corner of the opened
OMNITRACKER Windows client). Please see the Administrator Guide under Navigation:
User Interface > Administrative Operations > Client Options >>>
.OTR-file with a text editor (View (Lister)) with a right mouse click.
If you now enter
computer1.omnidomain.com as hostname in your desired login profile of the client, then exactly this
Profile is "dragged" when opening the client. Otherwise the
<user defined> profile with English client language is selected.
For filters using reference lists, the system checks for each line of the filter definition whether at least one object in the reference list matches the specified filter definition. The conditions do not necessarily refer to the same object in the reference list!

To adjust the image in the upper right corner of the WPF client login window, you need to distribute the following registry key on each client PC:
file format PNG
If you set the
LoginImagePath to your individual image, the link to the OMNINET website will be lost.
All other links in the login window (upper left corner and in the footer) cannot be influenced.
It is also not possible to influence the OMNITRACKER logo in the upper right corner of the main window. You can add your company logo in the forms (also in search forms).
You have probabaly been working with a dual monitor that is actually not in use. OMNITRACKER remembers the position of the folder definition window and tries to reopen this window outside the visible window. Press the <ESC>-Key and you will be able to continue.
To get the folder definition window back into the visible range, please follow the steps below:
Now the mouse can be reused to place the window wherever you like to. OMNITRACKER will remember this position.
Use a list view control and three buttons to add, delete and edit a (selected) section.
Attach these buttons to
TimeStampedMemoField\<Add / Delete / Modify> Section.
If your filter uses a "Reference list of objects" in filter conditions, then please be aware of the following:
Imagine the following filter:
<ReferenceListOfObjects>.filter condition 1 AND
<ReferenceListOfObjects>.filter condition 2
The filter finds objects that
A bug in Microsoft's WPF libraries can cause erroneously duplicated text to appear after deleting text in multiline text fields in the end-user client.
This happens only in very rare cases: If you delete some lines in an edit-control, the text below the deleted segment gets shifted up. Some lines in this segment may become invisible under certain circumstances.
Microsoft is informed about that problem, but it is not yet clear when a workaround or solution will be available. Until this problem is fixed, users are encouraged to verify the contents of text fields for their correctness.
Be aware of the fact that this is just a display problem! When scrolling back to the beginning and scrolling down again, the duplicated section disappears.
The server host's name is stored as a fully qualified domain name in the OTR-file. If you open the OTR-file with a text editor, you will see the host name that is used. The system utilizes this host name in the follwing way:
<userdefined>log in with language "en" is used.
You can specify the host name that is included in *.OTR files in the Admin-Client via File > Administration > Client Options...
This is important in a cluster environment ensuring that OTR-files do not contain the name of a specific cluster node, but the name of the cluster itself.
Please find more information here:
Administrator Guide under: Navigation:
User Interface > Administrative Operations > Client Options >>> see *.OTR files.
- Open an OTR-file with a text editor (View (Lister)).
server1.omnidomain.com is defined as host name in the log in profile, then exactly this profile will be used for the login.
If not, a
<user defined> profile in the English language will be used.
The precondition is the use of a Citrix Receiver.
In the WPF-Client, clicking on "Group By" in the column header does trigger nothing. Also clicking the View-Button and selecting List-View or Tree-View does not activate anything.
The issue is reported here: https://support.citrix.com/article/CTX230584
It has been fixed in Version CITRIX Receiver for Windows 4.10.1.
a. Fixed size form:
b. Resizable forms used as tabbed panes in the main window:
<MinSize>is less than available then no scrollbars are used and the form is resized down to
<MinSize>. If you then minimize this resized window, scrollbars will be displayed and the form is used in its original size in a scroll-viewer (and no longer in
<MinSize>is greater than available then scrollbars are displayed
c. Resizable forms used as stand-alone popup window:
<MinSize>is less than the screen then no scrollbars will be displayed and the form is resized automatically; the popup window can be at most minimized down to
<MinSize>is greater than the screen then the popup window is displayed with scrollbars
If the form is still displayed in a truncated look then you have to check the values and properties of the form in the form editor.
E.g. form resizable=yes with
<MinSize>=0 but with controls using absolute sizes, such as
TabControls with absolute height >800 DLU or OK-Button with fixed offset to the top border of the form. So, when using something like that you have to set a valid
<MinSize> to avoid unwanted truncations.
Newer template versions:
In the OMNITRACKER folder structure in the folder

Older template versions:
In the main menu of the WPF client, select the menu item "Extras" (German language) / "Tools" (English language). Please select the corresponding version-
<template> in the list of tools.
If there is no entry of this kind (Version-<template>), an administrator can
complete the missing entry by selecting "Tools > Customize" / "Extras > Customize".
The list is extended accordingly.
Further information can be found in the OMNITRACKER User Manual: Navigation:
OMNITRACKER: The OMNINET Problem and Request Tracking System > Miscellaneous Tools > Customize Tools menu.
To change the top right picture in the Login-Window of the WPF Client you have to add the following registry key on every client pc:

If you change the "LoginImagePath" to your individual image then the linkage to the OMNINET WebSite will be lost.
All other linkages offered in the Login-Window (top left corner and footer) cannot be changed.
It is neither possible to change the OMNITRACKER logo on the left top corner of the Login-Window nor to change the OMNITRACKER footer. It is not possible to change the OMNITRACKER logo on the top right corner of the main window. You can add your individual logo to the forms.
